The Research Data Analyst I/II (RDA I/II) develops and validates Contractors State License Board’s licensing examinations. The job consists of facilitating groups of contractors, analyzing the occupations, editing exam questions, and using exam statistics to ensure a high-quality product. The RDA I/II uses Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SurveyMonkey, testing applications, and travel-related applications. The position requires strengths in written and oral communication, project management (being organized), and statistics. Travel of 3-4 times per year (1-2 days at a time) is typical for completing occupational analyses. The RDA I/II will learn about building trades, for example, solar, electrical, carpentry, painting, flooring, or air conditioning. Applicants do not need experience in these occupations. The incumbent also works on blueprints and technical drawings. There is extensive training before a new hire would run a workshop.
