Keynote Speaker (6/27/19): Scott Highhouse

Scott Highhouse is a Professor and Ohio Eminent Scholar in the Department of Psychology, Bowling Green State University. He has been named a fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Association for Psychological Science (APS), and the Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology (SIOP). Scott has also served as Publications Officer on SIOP’s executive board (2009-2012), as well as served on the board of directors for the International Personnel Assessment Council (IPAC; 2012-2016).
 
Scott is founding editor of the journal Personnel Assessment and Decisions, is book series editor for Essentials of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, has served as Associate Editor of Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes (OBHDP) (2001-2007), and Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology (2007-2009). Additionally, Scott has been co-editor (with Neal Schmitt) of the IO psychology volume of the Handbook of Psychology.
 
Scott formerly worked in organizational development at Anheuser Busch Companies in St. Louis, MO. His primary areas of expertise are assessment/selection for employment, employer brand management, and human judgment/decision making. Scott’s work has been featured in many outlets, including the Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, and The Boston Globe.

Keynote Speaker (6/28/19): Tori Howes

Toris Howes is an associate professor of business and business program lead at Oregon State University – Cascades. Dr. Howes earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and public relations from the University of Central Missouri, her master’s degree in industrial and organizational (I/O) psychology from Missouri State University, and her Ph.D. in I/O psychology from Texas A&M University. Dr. Howes is a regular contributor in the fields of management and I/O psychology. Her work has appeared in such journals as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Human Relations, and Journal of Vocational Behavior. In addition, Dr. Howes is the coauthor (with Paul M. Muchinsky) of the best-selling I/O psychology textbook, Psychology Applied to Work

Dr. Howes is an active member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the Academy of Management, the American Psychological Association, and the Society for the Teaching of Psychology. She was the 2016 recipient of the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology’s prestigious Distinguished Teaching Contributions Award.
