Contractors State License Board (under the Department of Consumer Affairs) has a vacancy for a Research Data Analyst I/II. The RDA I/II works as part of a team to develop and validate CSLB’s 46 licensing examinations. The job consists of facilitating groups of contractors, analyzing the occupations (job analysis), editing exam questions, and using exam statistics to ensure a high-quality product. The RDA I/II uses item banking software, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SurveyMonkey, WebEx, testing applications, and travel-related applications. The position requires strengths in written and oral communication, project management, and statistics. Travel of 3-4 times per year (1-2 days at a time) is typical for completing job analyses. The RDA I/II will learn about building trades, for example, solar, electrical, carpentry, painting, flooring, or air conditioning. Applicants do not need experience in these occupations. The incumbent also works on blueprints and technical drawings.
